Undoubtedly, sending salawat (blessings) upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a virtuous act, with many hadiths detailing its benefits. Shaykh al-Hadith Maulana Zakariyya (may Allah have mercy on him) has detailed various hadiths in his work on the virtues of salawat. Particularly, there are special rewards for sending salawat on Fridays.
For instance, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Of all your days, Friday is the most virtuous; therefore, send blessings upon me frequently on this day, for your salawat is introduced to me.” This is kept in Musnad Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and Sahih Ibn Hibban. 1. *Angelic Attendance*: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Send salawat upon me frequently on Fridays because it is a day when angels are present. The salawat of the one who sends blessings upon me reaches me before they finish.” (Ibn Majah, 2/291, Hadith: 1637).
2. *Closeness to the Prophet*: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Send salawat upon me frequently on Fridays. Whoever sends the most salawat will be closest to me.” (Sunan Al-Kubra, 3/353, Hadith: 5995).
